What happens during a session....

The best advice I can give about preparing for a Reiki session is to drink plenty of water. Do your best to avoid caffeine and excessive sugar. Eating a light meal would be best. If you know you are going to eat a heavy meal, allow time for it to digest before you lie down for an hour. Comfortable clothing is always a good idea. It does not have to be fancy. I do not care if you have a hole in your sock or if your feet are dry. What matters is how comfortable YOU are. That will determine how you will feel about your session.

A regular session lasts an hour. You will always be fully clothed, eyes closed, lying in a relaxed posture (shoes off, if you wish). One of my clients is unable to lie on her back for long periods of time. In her case, she sits in a chair as I provide Reiki to her Chakra points. This “Quick Charge” lasts about thirty minutes. There will be soft background music. Often those receiving Reiki meditate or simply fall asleep!

In the Usui tradition, I will start at the top of you head (Crown Chakra), stopping for a few moments at each of your Chakras and any other area that you request and end at your feet. I will be in each position for anywhere from 3-5 minutes depending on your body’s needs.
